Water Improvement Projects

Enhancing Our Water Systems, Enriching Our Community

Explore our dedication to advancing sustainable water management, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering community welfare.

General Project Overview and Background:

We would like to inform you that a significant infrastructure improvement project is scheduled to commence on Sumneytown Pike, impacting the stretch from Broad Street to Supplee Road. This project involves the replacement of the existing cast iron 16-inch water main, originally installed in the 1960s, with modern ductile iron piping of the same diameter.

The primary objective of this project is to enhance the reliability and safety of our water supply by upgrading aging infrastructure. By replacing the outdated water main, we aim to minimize the risk of leaks and service interruptions while ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to our community.

In addition to the water main replacement, this project will include upgrades to services connected to the water main. These enhancements will further contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our water distribution system.

As with any construction project of this scale, there will be unavoidable disruptions to traffic flow and patterns along Sumneytown Pike. To facilitate the work, traffic flagging and lane closures will be implemented throughout the duration of the project. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for your patience and cooperation as we strive to complete this essential maintenance.

We understand the importance of minimizing disruptions to residents, businesses, and commuters during this project. Our team is committed to ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to mitigate inconveniences and complete the work efficiently and safely.

We encourage residents and commuters to plan ahead for potential delays and changes in traffic conditions. We will provide regular updates on the progress of the project and any changes to traffic management arrangements. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our infrastructure and continue to provide high-quality water services to our community.

This Project was financed [in part] by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.
